|
In this course students are invited to deal with a very famous poem written on death - "Stop all the Clocks" by W.H. Auden. The popularity of this work of verse is mainly due to the fact that it featured prominently in the film "Four Weddings and a Funeral". The tasks focus on listening skills, analytical aspects involved in interpreting poetry, furthermore the acquisition of a theoretical framework for analyzing metrical compositions as well as a test on recognizing various figures of speech. All the tasks are meant to enable students to finally come up with an in-depth analysis/ interpretation of the poem.
